Hnutí 5K

The Hnutí 5K carries out the four ministries of Jesus for neighbors in absolute need within a 5km radius of the church, home, and workplace where I belong: relief ministry, education ministry, health and medical ministry, and gospel proclamation ministry. It is a ministry with God's promise for the revival of the Korean church, the fulfillment of a unified Korea, and Korea becoming a nation that serves the nations.

The Hnutí 5K is a movement to serve the poor within a 5km radius where I belong. Here, K is an abbreviation for kilometer and means "near neighbors around me." God told us that when serving the poor, we should begin first with the nearby neighbors where we live. NCMN defined this boundary as the distance of one town, 5km, and named it the "Hnutí 5K."

When Christians and churches continue sharing in love with those nearby, their influence expands among unbelievers in the local community and doors for evangelism open. The Hnutí 5K in domestic local communities expands into the North Korea Hnutí 5K and mission-field Hnutí 5K through unity and cooperation among churches.

The reason we serve the poor is to participate in the heart of God, Abba Father, toward the poor. God commanded us to care for the poor. Serving the poor is obedience to God's command and at the same time training in a life of faith. This command is also God's love that desires to bless me.

There are more than 1,500 verses in the Bible promising blessing when we serve the poor. The lunchboxes served through the Hnutí 5K are seeds of faith being planted. Like the law of farming in which one grain of corn yields a thousand grains, they multiply. At the same time, this is depositing into the heavenly bank, where God is the banker, and the interest rate is high.

The Hnutí 5K serves through the four ministries of Jesus. The four ministries of Jesus are the feeding relief ministry, the education ministry that teaches truth, the health and medical ministry that heals sickness, and the ministry of proclaiming the gospel. In particular, 5K relief ministry is a ministry that shows the love of Jesus by meeting the absolute needs of the poor.

Relief ministry begins from the confession that every person on this earth must have the basic needs of life met: food, clothing, and shelter. 5K relief ministry serves marginalized and needy people by providing food and clothing, including meals for the homeless, side-dish sharing for people living in small rented rooms because they have no residence, elderly people living alone, and households with severe disabilities, and breakfast lunchboxes for elderly street vendors and women in the sex industry.

Education ministry begins from the confession that every child and young person on this earth has the right to receive education. 5K education ministry provides educational and cultural experience opportunities to children and youth who cannot receive educational benefits because of financial lack, through learning support by talent donation, mentoring ministry, tuition support, and more. It includes after-school care classrooms and Korean language classes for foreigners who have difficulty communicating in Korean, and serves them holistically in intellectual, physical, psychological, and emotional ways through learning, food, and fellowship.

Health and medical ministry begins from the confession that God wants every person on this earth to live a healthy life physically, spiritually, emotionally, and socially. 5K health and medical ministry provides medical-benefit support through connected sponsorship and psychological and emotional services through counseling for people in medical blind spots. It also cares for the sick around the 5km radius of the area, church, and business where I live, and is a movement that prevents disease by cleaning and keeping the local area clean.

Health and medical ministry includes simple medical treatment needed by the homeless, provision of nutritional supplements such as vitamins, operation of shower facilities that the homeless can use, and hair-care ministry. In 2022, connected with the Zdravotnické centrum NCMN ministry and the 5K Friends movement, visiting medical services began to expand in earnest.

Gospel proclamation ministry begins from the confession that every person on this earth has the right to hear and understand the gospel of Jesus Christ and to have the Bible in their own language. Through relief, education, and health and medical ministries, 5K gospel proclamation ministry shares God's love with people who do not know God, helps them receive the gospel and come to salvation, distributes Bibles within a 5km radius, and presents the gospel.

In 2022, Visiting 5K ministry was launched with "soul salvation in life's twilight" as its core. It strengthens gospel proclamation by visiting elderly people living alone nearby who have difficulty moving and carefully carrying out customized ministries with the love of Jesus, such as washing blankets, doing laundry, bathing, accompanying them to the hospital, and providing meals.

Jesus regarded giving food to the hungry, drink to the thirsty, clothing to the naked, and caring for the sick and imprisoned as service to Himself. The reason we kneel when delivering lunchboxes to the poor is that Jesus, who came as the least of these, is there within them. The lunchbox shared while wearing a red vest and kneeling is not merely food; it is the love of Jesus.

The red vest worn during the Hnutí 5K symbolizes the blood of Jesus Christ. Even if we do not say, "Believe in Jesus," while sharing food, recipients come to know the love of Jesus when they see the message "Jesus loves you" and the church name on the vest. When all Christians and churches use the same name, 5K, the same color, red, the same action of kneeling while serving, and the same NCMN logo, a power block is formed.

One of the greatest characteristics of the Hnutí 5K is the principle of self-support. Just as Jesus paid the price of His own life to save us, we can buy what is valuable by paying the price. Participation in the Hnutí 5K can begin by sharing from what I have. Church teams also do not depend on the church budget, but participating believers voluntarily dedicate their own time and finances to practice it.

The expected fruit of the Hnutí 5K is that good soil for the gospel is prepared. The hearts of unbelieving people in the world are like the path, rocky ground, and thorny ground, where the seed of the gospel is sown but cannot bear fruit. Through the service and care of the Hnutí 5K, which serves through the four ministries of Jesus, trust in Christians and churches grows; when gospel proclamation takes place on that trust, fruit of soul salvation is borne.

The domestic local church Hnutí 5K aims for revival in Korea not only through local church-centered 5K ministry but also through unity and cooperation among churches. There is a movement in which individual churches become the main agents and carry out the four ministries of Jesus within a 5km radius of their own churches, and there is a movement carried out by NCMN in unity with the Hnutí 5K headquarters, branches, and churches.

Through the Hnutí 5K, local churches can make it easier for new families to settle, gain help for soul salvation by becoming a point of contact with people targeted for evangelism, and restore the community of God's kingdom as a place of fellowship for all believers. Through 5K love sharing boxes, 5K love sharing companies, 5K talent donation, and more, they carry out the four ministries of Jesus and partner with local government offices to support vulnerable groups with daily necessities and nutritional supplements.

The North Korea Hnutí 5K is not simply waiting for reunification, but preparing in advance so that a systematic and effective Hnutí 5K can be carried out immediately after reunification. NCMN used GIS, geographic information system technology, to subdivide all of North Korea into circles with a 5km radius, or sectors, centered on cities with populations of more than 20,000.

Through this process, a total of 1,189 5K sectors were identified, and preparation is being made by matching them one-to-one with churches, businesses, and 5K relief ministry teams. This triple matching system is a strategy in which, when reunification is achieved in the future, churches, businesses, and 5K relief ministry teams enter each sector together and serve integrally through the four ministries of Jesus: gospel proclamation, feeding, teaching, and healing.

NCMN and network partner churches and businesses are preparing for the era of a unified Korea and, after gospel reunification, are assigning North Korean sectors to churches and businesses by lot so that the four ministries of Jesus can be carried out in North Korea. Assigned churches and businesses form networks to share strategies for practically serving their North Korean sector areas and prepare specifically by securing Bibles, interceding, and raising finances. In 2022, the DMZ 155-Mile Prayer March Opening Reunification was also held.

The mission-field Hnutí 5K is a movement that expands the kingdom of God through transformation of mission regions by carrying out the four ministries of Jesus within a 5km radius of frontline mission fields. It proclaims the gospel through food supply, literacy eradication, and disease treatment in mission regions. Frontline mission fields not only are difficult to evangelize but also carry complex difficulties such as economic poverty, lack of education, lack of medical services, and spiritual dryness, so the Bible must go together with food, the Bible with schools, and the Bible with hospitals.

The mission-field Hnutí 5K is a mission movement that selects a specific region and carries out a two-handed gospel strategy within a 5km radius of that region, holding the gospel in one hand and relief, education, and medical care in the other. Including five branches, the Sydney, UK, Japan, Cambodia, and Malaysia branches, 105 teams in 23 countries are carrying out the Hnutí 5K.

My5K Walk is a nationwide walking movement that shares needs and serves neighbors who need help within a 5km radius around me, leads culture, awakens good conscience in people, and enables them to practice love for neighbors. "Love makes us walk. Love is sharing, and sharing is walking together. Walking together changes the world. You who walk together are the protagonist of a miracle."

My5K is a donation walking campaign that began in 2019. All participation fees are used to help neighbors with absolute needs around us, so that participants can join in helping neighbors joyfully and easily. It has continued every year with the purpose that looking around the 5km around us is a step of love, and that our small actions bring about miracles of transformation, under the four slogans of love, walking together, transformation, and miracle.

My5K cumulative participation is 55,504 people, and cumulative sponsorship is 642,620,000 won. In 2025, people from 196 countries overseas participated, and the entire 160 million won in participation fees was provided as support for love of neighbor, serving child-headed households, emergency treatment for pediatric patients, elderly people living alone, and overseas neighbor-love sharing.

5K Friends was launched in April 2021 to unfold the Christian civilization reformation movement with the next generation, under the slogan "I will be your Friends," a message of Jesus' love for neighbors meaning "I will become your friend," and holding together the Word of John 15:14, "You are my friends if you do what I command you."

5K Friends is currently leading the 5K Love Sharing Bus, which directly visits marginalized neighbors and neighbors in difficulty across the nation to carry out the four ministries of Jesus, and the NCMN DMZ 155-Mile Prayer March Opening Reunification, a great march of faith to remove the barbed wire of the armistice line commanded by the Lord in preparation for the reunification of the Korean Peninsula.

The 5K Love Sharing Bus of 5K Friends is a comprehensive Hnutí 5K that visits areas in need of help, such as wildfire, fire, flood-damaged, and underdeveloped areas, and shares the love of Jesus and proclaims the gospel through one-day service activities such as meal provision, medical events, cultural performances, daily-necessity sharing, and facility repair. In the field, it unites with NC Medical Center, Visiting 5K, King's Business, and branches to serve elders, provide medical volunteer service, improve residential environments, offer foot massage, beauty service, longevity photos, gospel proclamation, and more.

Visiting 5K proceeds while holding to Luke 19:10, "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost," and the Word of the good Samaritan. It is a soul-salvation ministry that visits one lost soul with the love of Jesus Christ and fills an empty seat in heaven through customized service.

Visiting 5K is a joyful heavenly banquet ministry in which we go with the gospel to unbelievers within a 5km radius of the individual, business, and church where we live, and lead them to soul salvation through customized service. It is also a ministry that seeks lost souls, serves the church that is the Lord's body, and expands church revival and the kingdom of God.
